Salted Caramel Bars

I am always looking for inspiration for something new to bake, and with the power of email and following other blogs they now come straight to me! A recent great find came from the lovely blog Spoon Fork Bacon. As a weekend treat for friends I made their lovely Salted Dulce De Leche Bars, this was a great way to spend a cold wet weekend! Their full recipe can be found on their website!

For once I actually followed the recipe! and it turned out fabulously, the whole thing has almost disappeared as if eaten by lochusts….. or my friends!

mix together and rub in the butter

press down 2/3 of the mix into a base and then spread the carmel over the top, then top the caramel with the remaining oat mix and butterscotch pieces!

Allow to cool and then take out of the tin and cut up into pieces
